No Load Tap Changer (NLTC) Handle Stem Packing Leaks

There are several different designs of NLTC handles, see figures 1 and 2.  Many NLTC handles are sealed by packing areas around the stem that can be drilled and injected.

TDS Repair Techniques

Typically the packing area can be drilled and injected with sealant.  Figures 3 and 4 show the packing area on a NLTC being injected with sealant.
